EDWARD II

Sound Designer

Helen Wayne Rauh Theatre. Pittsburgh, PA
Opened on February 22. 2017

Director: Stephen M. Eckert

Based on the tragedy of Edward II. Yiran's goal was to create a dark and aggressive feeling for the whole show, to make audiences feel depressed and stressed.
Yiran's research focused more on industrial sound, heavy metal feeling and horror sound from nature. By Combining the artificially industrial feeling with the power of nature, her sound design aimed to present the dark side of the character's mind, and express the struggle between love and the desire for power.
Sound also helped other departments to build the environment, Fulfilled the story. Sound designing, together with other departments, created an immersive experience and provide a multi-sensory feast to the audiences.

Console used: Soundcraft Si1
